Quick Story

This year, my school is Title I, so we're doing more programming to get our kids up to where they need to be. Every morning we break up the fifth grade into many reading groups for half an hour, and I got the 8 lowest kids in fifth grade. We're reading a short story, and one of my students came across the word, "ashore". She had no idea how to say it, and she used her prior knowledge to sound it out. I'm hearing, "ass-whore", and trying not to bust out laughing! It was awesome!!
