Vegas Baby!

Alright, here's an update about the weekend.

Thursday night I picked up Adrienne from the airport. I didn't know where she was seeing as how I was waiting by her baggage carousel for about 20 minutes, until I realized my chair was facing the wrong way and I wouldn't be able to see her...We had a good drive back to my apartment, and made a stop at WalMart for some stuff for a lesson on Friday. We sat up and talked for a long time.

Friday I came home from school (after a damn long trip to the bank...old people shouldn't go through drive-thru, and the bank should have more than one teller for the drive-thru on a Friday afternoon), ate something, and then headed down to the Strip. First stop was the yard long, and then off from there...I pretty much blogged about Friday, so see previous post for that...not really up for re-blogging right now. Well, other than the fact that Adam's a buzzkill, and I asked Dan a million times how home was. And...Adrienne was very friendly with the people on the Strip, as well as the porn peddlers. :)

Saturday we slept in. We decided that we wanted to go and see the Hoover Dam. We didn't really want to pay for the tour, and decided to just drive over it. We didn't really expect the traffic that was there. We hit major traffic as we got closer. And we were driving along the mountains, really close to the edge. She thanked me many times for being a good driver. We had to go through a security checkpoint, and we were both wondering what that consisted of. It consisted of two security guards waving people through. Granted, buses, and other big trucks and stuff have to stop so they can inspect those vehicles. We finally got down there, and it wasn't as exciting as I thought it was. We were talking about the movie Fools Rush In while we were driving closer to the Dam. As we got to it, we were comparing what we saw to what was in the movie. There were many things missing here than were in the movie. Guess the movie adding and took things out. After that, we went to the McDonald's in Boulder City for some lunch. We got in there, and we both got the same thing, but since I asked for honey, was charged more. I guess the person thought I had said honey mustard, and handed me that...oh well. Cheap place...Then Adrienne and I decided we wanted a Shamrock shake since we hadn't had any this year. I went up to get mine, and the same chick (not real friendly), came to take my order. She told me they didn't have them anymore. Well maybe they should take that off of their menu then...It was back to the Strip for us once we entered the Vegas area again. We hit up the World's Largest Gift Shop to look for some true souvenirs from Las Vegas. Our goal was to find something that had both our names on it for us to keep as a momento. Aww, so cute! We then drove down to the Mirage, and hit the rest of the casinos we missed the night before (Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, Harrah's, Casino Royale, Venetian, and Treasure Island). What's really cool is that we were shopping in Kid's Karnivale in the Venetian, and I just read tonight, after I took Adrienne to the airport, that Brittney Spears and K-Fed were in there shopping on Thursday night. I'm sure Adrienne would like to hear that :). We saw some evangelists on a corner on the Strip, kinda funny. As we were waiting for the water show at the Bellagio, there was an announcement that the next scheduled show was going to be canceled due to the high winds...it wasn't even that windy! We were really tired when we got done at Caesar's, and were very happy to see the car when we got back to the Mirage. We drove home, had a drink, watched part of RENT (did you know that the kid who played Daryl in Adventures in Babysitting plays Mark in RENT?!), and went to bed.

Today we woke up, and decided that we wanted to go shopping. We went to Best Buy, and then we went to lunch at BJs. After lunch, it was time for Target to get my chair for my patio and a copy of the picture we had taken with the Showgirl at Harrah's. I then took her past where I lived before my apartment, and then it was time to take her to the airport. It was sad seeing her go. I knew I was going to be sad, but I didn't think I would be as sad as I was to see her go. It was like I was on vacation this weekend. I didn't think about school at all (well, I did, but then that brought on stress...so I tried not to think about it...). I had such a great time with her, and it was a friendly face. My apartment wasn't too quiet either. It was just awesome. Awesome time...I can't wait for her to come back out!
