Finally
It's been forever since I've updated, but I now have a life. Not saying that people who post a lot don't have lives....I'm just excited I actually have people out here to keep me away from my computer!
I'm so excited! My sister's moving out here soon! She just got accepted into the History grad program out here at UNLV. I got the email while my kids were working on their math, and I had to hold back the jumping up and down and screaming! I had to wait a full hour to call her about the news. It was killing me sitting through my grade level meeting, and not being able to share my news with anyone. Of course I emailed most everyone in my school email account as soon as I got her email...but I didn't have anyone to share in my excitement! I finally got to talk to her once my meeting was over, and I was eating my "lunch" (expired chips they can't feed the kids don't really count for lunch...stupid me forgetting the frozen meal at home...). I told Daisy about it, and she got really excited. She only met my sister once, but she was still excited. She turned to her daughter (my new best friend...who happens to be 5), and said, "Isn't that exciting?! That means she'll be out here for a bit longer!" Aww...
Speaking of Daisy and her daughter, we're baking Christmas cookies this weekend! I'm super excited about that one too! We're totally going to bake like I've never baked before! We're going to make sugar cookies and decorate them, which I don't remember doing much as a kid. We're going to make pumpkin bars and spinach dip too. I know, it doesn't sound like a good combo, but we're playing games with a bunch of people from work after baking....and the staff loved my spinach dip I brought in as part of our fifth grade sponsored luncheon.
I come home in a week! I'm excited about that. I get to see everyone, and feel the pain of the extreme coldness. I froze last week when it was in the low 30s in the mornings. I broke out the winter coat last week. That was the first time I've done that out here! I get to hang out with my peeps, and I get to take a road trip up to Green Bay to see everyone! I'm so happy I get to see everyone. I even get to go to school with Adam on his last day before break. That should be fun. And I get to see the rest of my favorite people in the world who are up in Green Bay.
I guess if I had to choose a word to describe myself today, it would be..excited.
